The bombing took her leg, but today Evelyn is walking again. When 16–year–old Evelyn Abel was kidnapped by Islamic terrorists, she was prepared to die for her faith. Instead, a bomb that was intended for the extremists blew her right leg off. Evelyn was rescued, and her life was spared. Later, Evelyn was fit with a prosthetic leg at VOM’s clinic (the only one of its kind in northern Nigeria). Today she is walking again and praising God. Violence against Christians in Nigeria continues to rise. VOM helped more than 500 believers with serious medical injuries during the past year.
